Schools reopening in Jammu and Kashmir
The government of Jammu and Kashmir had decided to reopen schools in the state from September 21, 2020, on a voluntary basis, as the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the state was under control during that time.
Students were allowed to attend regular classes on school premises with the written consent of their parents. The schools were reopened with only 50 percent attendance in the classrooms. Online classes are still being conducted for students, not in school.
To ensure the safety of the students during the pandemic, several Covid-19 safety guidelines have also been issued by the government, such as the usage of face masks and sanitizers, and the following of social distancing in classrooms.
The schools and colleges across the country have been shut down since March 2020 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown imposed by the central government. Now, many states are taking a call on the reopening of schools.
