The government of Karnataka has decided to reopen the educational institutes, including schools and colleges, in the state from January 15, 2021. In order to brace itself against the lethal Covid-19 pandemic, the state government has issued a list of Covid-19 safety guidelines for the reopening of colleges.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Higher Education Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said on Monday that the colleges are reopening for all students of undergraduate, postgraduate, engineering, and diploma courses in the state.
The Karnataka government had already resumed the classes for final year students in the state with several Covid-19 safety guidelines. The colleges in Karnataka are resuming normal functioning after nearly 10 months of being shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Covid-19 tests not mandatory for students without symptoms
Not more than 50% of students in each class
Students attending offline classes must compulsorily wear masks, carry sanitizers and bring food and water from home
Students attending classes must get parental permission
Libraries and canteens allowed to open with safety guidelines.
