Kerala colleges to reopen in early January

The Kerala government has decided to reopen colleges in the state for UG and PG students from “early January”. The decision to reopen Kerala colleges from January 2021 was taken at a high-level meeting attended by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday.

The colleges will reopen with a limited number of students and on the shift basis of morning and afternoon. All social distancing norms and other Covid-19 safety protocols will be followed.

Online classes for school students to continue
The state government will however not decided to reopen schools yet. Online classes will continue for schools.

Students of classes 10 and 12 can also go to school with guardian consent in case they need to talk to teachers for doubt-clearing sessions.

The states and UTs of India have been able to decide on the school reopening dates in their state depending on the local conditions from October 15 onwards.

Many states have not reopened any school or college yet. Certain states reopened schools, only to shut them again as Covid-19 cases shot up.

Kerala board exams 2021
The Kerala board exams 2021 for class 10 will be conducted between March 17 and March 30 as per the government’s announcement.

Those preparing for practical exams of SSLC and final-year Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary will begin classes on January 1, 2021.

Student counselling sessions to keep stress at bay and model tests for the upcoming board exams will be conducted at the school level once they reopen.
